what do you think of it? Too bad Helio got that penalty. He could've won! Let's just hope Dixon finishes 9th or worst next week in Chicago. At least he wasn't in the top 3 today.

  1. Idiots Rule the League is what IRL really stands for!!! Helio's "block" was legal

  2. Helio thought he found a loophole that gave him one free block per race and got nailed.  Frankly, as many times as some drivers have been warned this year already for blocking (including Helio), the fact that Barnhart hadn't put anybody on probation at this point is ridiculous.  However, BB's inconsistency doesn't condone Helio's bonehead move.  If you take someone from one side of the track to the other on live TV, you should expect a penalty.  BB didn't manipulate Wilson to 2nd place that late in the race and he sure didn't fix it to give Justin that run on Helio which made the block happen.  This was NHL's race to win, BB not withstanding, and Helio knows it.

I just hope Helio takes 60 seconds to realize that, based on numerous reports, this could be the last IndyCar road course race Paul Newman ever sees.  I'd like to think seeing his team win on an previously CART/CCWS road course and Penske Inc being upset about it put a big smile on PLN's face today.  It's great that Helio is passionate enough to want to win every race.  Sometimes, due to circumstances beyond our control, not winning can still make you smile.  Belle Isle 2008 was one of those races.  Even Tim Cindric admitted that much in the post race interview.

  3. I'm happy for Justin.  I think him and that team really deserved a win.  I'm a little iffy about that last penalty on Helio, but Newman/Haas/Lanigan deserved that win.  I'm VERY excited for Chicago now.  I'm going to that race, and I was hoping that there would be a couple drivers battling it out for the Championship.  I don't really care who wins the Championship.  I think Dixon has had a great season, and it would be nice to top it off with a win, but Helio has had some horrible luck this season, so a championship would be awesome after winning only once so far this season.  Good luck to both Helio and Dixon!  Can't wait for Chicago!

  4. Im Glad for him

I hope this years race is just as exciting as last year at Chicagoland...i hope to be there again this year

  5. I'm so glad Justin Wilson got a win. That team will be on the same page with Penske, AGR , and TCGR next year. This is their first year and they have 2 wins with 2 rookies as AGR has much more experience and they only have 2 wins this year with one rookie, one old salt, daddy's boy and a glamor girl... Once the Newman Haas guys figure out oval racing, they will be contenders for championships.

As for the crappy nit-picking the IRL pulls....It pisses me off. They let Dixon and Danica get away with "chopping" almost EVERY d**n RACE on tracks that are wide enough to go 3 wide and then they bust on Helio for going "off his line" on a track that is hardly wider than his car?!!! It's a joke. That #23 gets to race 13 mph slower than everyone else and they say Helio was wrong?... Brian Barnhardt is a wimp.

At least we will still have a reason to race Chicago. I'm going for Helio all the way now.....if Helio loses the title by 9 points I'm gonna be pissed!!

  6. IRL is beginning to p**s me off like Nascar and their dumb penalties. But its only 30 points now I hope Dixon finishs 15 or worse next week... Congrats to Justin Wilson, it could have been Dixon...Sorry I'm not bashing Dixon the guy is great but, he'll never be my favorite.

    Go Helio.

  7. thats interesting...

i wish he would have just stayed back

i really think helio should have won.

    but good for him...

even though Power's now in third for Rookie of the Year...

i cant wait to go to chicagoland next weekend.
