You guys miss him?

I'm no Chinese at all, but I surely miss his playing

in his prime no one could ever nail a drop shot on him cuz he's so quick

also his total career prize-money earnings was US$19,145,632. Not bad

The best thing I remember from him was him coming back from 2 sets down to beat Lendl with the underhand serve in Semi of French Open 1989

  1. Yeah, i miss him and his quickness but what im curious to find out is as to how he got into the Hall of Fame...was this for his lone slam achievement or for other humanitarian accomplishments he has as well but were not aware of ?

  2. The youngest person to ever win a slam DEFINITELY deserves to be in HOF

    I'm glad for him

Also, I think when talking about long rallies, like over 20 or more shots, Chang is in the same class as Agassi and Nadal.

  3. the man was the youngest man to win a grand slam, AND hes chinese. not saying chinese people dont make good tennis players, im chinese myself but i gotta be honest here, chinese players are VERY SHORT. i think he deserved it

  4. If players like Michael Chang is inducted into the Hall of Fame, then it's a crowded indeed. If you can get into it after winning only one slam, what is the benchmark set then? It's plain ridiculous. A minimum requirement should be 5 career slam wins, preferably at least two of them different tournaments.

  5. I remember having those reebok pump tennis shoes

  6. i dont think he should be in hall of fame

  7. I think that the people who inducted him to the Hall of Fame have all the reasons to put him there. I'm from Thailand, so being Asian, we relate much to him... and I'm happy that he belongs to an elite class of society regardless of what other racists think...

  8. I am happy for him. He was always a bit unlucky in the Grand Slams and I always felt he should have won more in his career, but the 89 French Open turned out to be his lone slam.

His speed and agility on the court was the best thing about him. I remember even Sampras remarked about how much he wished he had Chang's speed on the court. I believe today only Rafa has been able to matched Chang's speed on the court and perhaps eclipsed it.

Winning 34 titles and 7 Master Series events wasn't too bad as well and that now infamous 4th round encounter at the 89 French Open, with then world number 1 Ivan Lendl will always be talked about. LOL
