  1. amsoil is great stuff and they will stand behind you if you have a oil related problem. If your dealer says that the failure was due to using amsoil they had better be ready. Amsoil will stand behind their products 100% I can't say that about Mobil 1.

Amsoil filters are second to none go to AMSOIL.com and see what they are all about

  2. Both are great for their intended use.  I use Mobil1 in my car and used to use Amsoil in my bike but have found a cheap supplier of synthetic Honda motorcycle oil for bikes so I now use Honda oil in them.  I can not tell you which is better, both are great.  Make sure to use motorcycle specific oil in your bike if it has a wet clutch, most do.  Some people say it doesn't matter, but to that I counter why do all bike manufactures offer synthetic oil with moly and a different oil without moly.  The reason is simple, you do not want to use an oil with moly on a bike with a wet clutch.

  3. Was an Amsoil guy til Lucas out performed it... now use both Lucas and Mobile1 (M1 has a V twin oil for those of you who don't know) because S&S endorses Mobile one and has done extensive testing even to the point of using it for break in. I would have never EVER used syn for a break in until I read S&S's test results.

  4. For what application?

  5. Both exist in a realm of such extreme overkill beyond "Factory Recommendations" and every spec that any standards organization can dream up,,, any question of "Best" between the 2 is a Moot Point.

At BARE MINIMUM,,,both oils' specs exceed the demands of what an engine or it's operating conditions can place upon  an engine oil.

Use of EITHER assures an operator an excess safety factor of lubrication properties they can probably never exceed.

Except for allowances of "Nothing's Perfect" and "Nothing's Impossible",,,

actual, genuine Lubrication  Failures  are a non-factor with either oil.

To me the "tie-breaker" is price & availability.

When in my right mind and I remember to,,,

I recommend Both/Either  as End-of-Subject on bike engine oils for all practical purposes.
