Question:

So Nervous and Confused...?

So, pretty much all my life i've wanted to become a doctor . Until recently, i've been second guessing it, because i fell like all the years of hard work and schooling might not even have that big of a pay-off in the end.

This may sound stupid, but i feel as though i won't be getting the full "college experience" and feeling of being free and whatnot if i'm pre-med and just completely focused on becoming a doctor.

So what do you think? Can you be pre-med and still have a life?

  1. thats not about fashion r****d i dont think your smart enough to be a doctor if u cant tell what category to put your thing in

  2. sure. just manage your time. party but not too much. set aside a certain time for studying and the rest for fun.

good luck. hope it works out.

  3. i think you should only become a doctor if that is a career you will love. it's so time consuming and difficult so i honestly don't think you can be happy and satisfied with your life if medicine isn't something you REALLY REALLY want to study. i suggest you review the reasons why you wanted to study medicine in the first place and if your reasons are good enough, suck it up and just do it.

  4. As a surgeron I can say that you are NOT DR. Material. You need to get that idiodic idea out of your head asap.

  5. I think it's stupid to give up something you've worked so hard for.

Yes, opinions change, but your reason for the change isn't reasonable.

Of course college will be difficult, whether you are focused on being a journalist or a lawyer, an accountant or a doctor. Some professions are more difficult than others, but no matter what career path you turn to, you'll receive a hard time. It won't be easy, but if you've dreamed about it for this long, in the end, you'll thank yourself. Even if you won't get the same 'college experience' as a person who breezed through college, you'll get an experience that is a hundred times more rewarding. My advice would be that when things get tough, and they will, don't start regretting it and don't quit. Push it out 'till the end, it is definitely worth it, the experience will be memorable.
