Marcus Trescothick has confessed to illegally shining the ball with 'Murray Mints' in a new book released recently.He says he discovered by trial & error that the ball behaved beautifully when polished with the mints he carried in his pocket & chewed constantly.lol, I knew there was a reason we lost & they won! It seems Rahul Dravid was fined half his match fee for a similar misdeed a few years ago.Should we send Trescothick to the stocks, or just send him out here to the colonies for punishment?

The funny part was where he said that they fell out of his pocket while feildind near the square leg umpire and had to scramble to pick them up.

I guess the don't have murry mints here .PK dosn't have the same eftect and was discovered the very first ball England bowled in the last Ashes series over here.

Jake has asked this Q in a lighthearted manner & wouldn't want any punishment to be brought down on Trescothick's head. If he wasn't caught at it at the time, there's no reason to expect he will be brought to account for it now. I gather Dravid was caught out at the time he did it. I am amazed that Trescothick confessed to doing it, though I'm equally sure every bowler has his method of doing similar things(except Brett Lee, lol, he's an angel!) lol

So one little packet of mints defeated the mighty Ozzies. LOL.  how soon they forget their own antics at making sure they win, just ask trevor chappell and the Kiwi's, or how about the drug Warnies gran gave him.  LOL.  You Ozzies sure are hypocritical but what else can you expect since you broke ties with england in WW2 and decided to follow the American way

I read this earlier today.My first thought was honestly to P,myself laughing..

I think it is hilarious that after this amount of time has gone by Trescothic waits until now to say something..

I think it was funny how he described his mints falling out of his pocket right in front of the umpire and Aussie batsman.

In some ways we should be mighty peed off,but what is the use after all this time?..As they say pay back is a ****** and we will remember Trescothic's words during next year Ashes...

I do however wait to hear what poor old Nathan Bracken has to say about this though,the poor bugger was abused by Simon Jones for saying that(He used mints to sticky the ball up) after the match,how things change when people write books..
