So You Think gives an impressive performance at Curragh race-course – Horse Racing Update
Curragh race-course was the main centre of attention for the fans of the sport and all those involved in the business of horse-racing on Monday as it hosted some of the significant races today featuring the champion trainees of champion trainers.
One of these races was the Group 3 race that is known by the name of High Chaparral European Breeders Fund Mooresbridge Stakes. This race was run over a distance of 1 mile and 2 furlongs and was contended by race-horses of age four and above.
What was interesting about this race was the fact that the famed trainer Aidan O’ Brien saddled the race-horse So You Think. This was a debut victory for the colt and he made an impressive performance in the event as he was able to hold off the rest of the
field with relative ease.
Talking about the racing career of So You Think, it has been revealed that the race-horse was the third place finisher in the Emirates Melbourne Gold Cup and then he also went on to win the Cox Plate twice. He was sent out to contend this race as a 2-13
favourite and managed to impress his fans and connections on his first start of this racing season.
The first place was bagged by stable-mate Windsor Palace. Meanwhile, the second place finisher was the race-horse Bob Le Beau. So You Think could only manage to finish the race in third place.
It was intriguing to watch the two champions run against each other. The winner of the race was being ridden by the jockey Joseph O’ Brien.
In a post race interview, the delighted winning trainer was reported as saying about his race-horse, “He’s only been doing half speeds at home and was just ready to start today. You couldn’t have asked for more, he’s an incredible specimen and it’s a privilege
to have him.”
Talking about the upcoming plans of the race-horse, the pleased trainer said, “All being well he’ll come back for the Tattersalls Gold Cup.”
So You Think may encounter Workforce in the aforementioned meeting if everything goes well.
