So You Think is now on for the challenge of 12 furlongs at the Prix de I’Arc de Triomphe
The list for the league of all time best trainers would never be complete without the name of Aidan O’Brien. His record is filled with endless wins at the most prestigious races. His son J P O’Brien is an upcoming star jockey and has had chances to prove
himself on tracks like Doncaster and Listowel lately.
A worthwhile addition to his stable recently was So You Think, a 5-year-old who belongs to Smith/Magnier/Tabor.
On 3rd September So You Think won the Leopardstown Red Mills Irish Champion Stakes Group 1. His jockey at the race was Seamie Heffernan.
So You Think chased the leader while in the second position, geared up when he reached into the second furlong and then did not let go of the speed rather displayed more strength and crossed the wire due to his maintained pace.
The second to gallop through the wire was Snow Fairy who started off with chasing the leading pair, soon went towards being the second in chase and grew stronger but was a good 1 ½ furlongs away from the winner when he crossed the finish line.
Snow Fairy was ridden by the famous jockey Frankie Dettori.
Famous Name was the third one down the line and A P O’Brien was being represented by Roderic O’Connor who was not able to impress the crowds and perform pleasantly on the track that day.
The colt has already won four out of his five starts this season, winner of three Group Ones this year. Now to take the credentials further, the connections have agreed upon setting the Prix de I’Arc de Triomphe as the next objective for So You Think.
This announcement has made the event way more desirable than it was before and the Paris race this time is being predicted as an exceptional one due to the unusual collection of talent there this time. It did however turn out to be disappointing for the
Ascot crowd as his participation was expected there too.
"So You Think is in great form," said his trainer, Aidan O'Brien, "and, all being well with him, the plan is to run in the Arc, given reasonable ground conditions”.
In case So You Think wins the Arc then his rating and recording both will boost and it might as well be the last time he runs this season so ending it with a victory would be spectacular.
