So You Think pointed to the Breeders’ Cup Classic for her next start at Churchill Downs
The 5-year-old bay horse So You Think is headed to Churchill Downs to participate in the Breeders’ Cup Classic on 5 November, 2011, and is expected to continue into next month after his Malaysian part owner suggested he would run.
Trained my Aidan O’Brien for owners Smith, Magnier, Tabor, Dato Tan and Tunku Yahaya, So You Think is coming off a second place finish in the Group 1 QIPCO Champion Stakes at Ascot on 15 October, 2011.
So You Think under jockey Ryan Moore tracked the leading pair in the early going and went second over 2 furlongs out, and managed a strong run after that.
The son of High Chaparral, out of Triassic by Tights, So You Think led the race but with a furlong to go she was pressed by Christophe Soumillon’s ride Cirrus Des Aigles.
The 12 to 1 French bred was driven to lead inside the final furlong and ran on well to assert near the finish line, as So You Think also kept it going in the final furlong but couldn’t do enough to out finish the winner near finish.
Dato Tan Chin Nam, the Malaysian owner who sold a controlling stake in So You Think to Coolmoore last year, said he wanted his six-year-old to 'take on the world'.
Prior to the QIPCO Champion Stakes, So You Think races in France at Longchamp on 2 October, 2011, over at a distance of 1 mile and 4 furlongs.
It was the Group 1 Qatar Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe  for 3-year-old colts, fillies and mares, but the 5-year-old horse weakened in the last 100 yards to finish 4th behind Danedream, who won the race, Shareta and Snow Fairy.
His last win came in the Group 1 Red Mills Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on 3 September, 2011, over at 1 mile and 2 furlong on a surface labelled as good.
In the field of six, So You Think came off the pace under jockey Seamie Heffernan and improved to lead the pack 2 furlongs out and maintained lead to hit the wire defeating Snow Fairy by half a length.
