So You Think pre entered for the Breeders’ Cup Classic and will be looking to win his 5th race over the 1 ¼ mile distance this season
Bred in New Zealand by M. J. Morgan and Piper Farm Limited, 5-year-old horse So You Think, the European invader has been pre entered in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Classic at Churchill Downs on 5 November, 2011.
In his most recent start, So You Think finished second behind Cirrus Des Aigles in the Grade 1 Champions Stakes at Ascot under R Moore on 15 October, 2011, on turf over at 1 ¼ miles.
Aidan O’Brien’s wife Annemarie O’Brien, stated on her Twitter account that So You Think was one of 12 Ballydoyle runners pre-entered in Breeders' Cup races.
The son of High Chaparral, out of Triassic by Tights, So You Think has an impressive resume, and is responsible for one of the most impressive runs in the shortest spans of time, when he ran 3 grade 1 races in 13 days.
In 2010, So You Think ran 2, 1 ¼ mile races and then participated in the 2 mile long race where he finished first in the first two and third in the marathon long 2 mile long race.
The runner has gone on to win eight Group 1 races out of which three came in the 2011 season, and what makes his resume more astonishing is that he named the champion horse at 3 in Australia.
So far, in 2011 So You Think has gone on to race seven times, and she started off the season in emphatic style, winning his first two starts. He kicked off 2011 in May when he bagged the Group 3 Mooresbridge Stakes at the Curragh at about 1 ¼ miles.
Then went on to land the Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup also at Curragh on 22 May, over at 1 ¼ miles defeating the likes of Campanologist and Famous Name in the process while covering the distance in 2 minutes and 14.08 seconds.
So You Think won two Grade 1 races back to back, the Group 1 Coral Eclipse Stakes, in which he defeated Workforce and Sri Putra, and then captured the Grade 1 Irish Champion Stakes, vanquishing Snow Fairy and Famous Name for his fourth win of the season.
