So a 5.8 earthquake just hit socal ? what should i do if an aftershock hits ?

my house shook for about 15-20 seconds...

im in a 2 story house .

it hit in Chino Hills and im in Mission Viejo, CA

Just stay calm; I already felt a 2-3 second after-shock, but in case it happens again, get into an archway (doorway without a door) if you get under a doorway, the door can slam and hurt you if the quake is big enough.

I felt a little aftershock, but who's to say another big one can come? If another big one hurts duck and cover under a sturdy table. I did the wrong thing and stood in the middle of the room. Alta Loma got hit bad I'm telling you, bad!!! If an aftershock comes it is also good not to panic and to remain calm. I hope another one doesn't come, I'm scared to death the apartment will fall.

yes open a door and stand under it  and if ur close to family stay together once it has stopped u can take them outside just incase another one hits

Don't worry the change of this earthquake being a fore-shock to a bigger one is only 5%. Even though it's unlikely If an huge aftershock hits, just get under a sturdy table, or under a doorway and hold on!!

I'm in Laguna Niguel.  Can you believe how hard that hit? Scared me to death.  I have a 2 story condo and I watched it rock back and forth for like 20 seconds!  I think the northridge one was 6.0 wasn't it???
