So a bird built a nest in our carport and every time i go out there the bird does threatening fly bys?

what do we do, i am afraid it's going to attack me!! it flies by very close to me and the baby every time we go out there!!

  1. She's protecting her babies just like you would protect yours.  You're both mothers so try to be understanding until they fly away.

It is just defending the nest.  As long as you don't bother the nest, it won't attack.  Won't be long until the babies leave the nest, then your problem will be gone.  Must be a mockingbird or catbird, they are the worst for defending the nest.  But they never actually hit you. Just throw a light blanket over the baby, until you get in the car, if that would make you feel better.

  3. This is a problem that will be solved very shortly. Once the baby birds hatch and leave the nest, the parents won't be so protective any more - and you can remove the nest. In the meantime, think about the relative sizes of you and the bird. It isn't going to harm you - unless you have an eagle or something of that sort living in the carport - all it can do is try to frighten you. And if you just ignore it and move through the carport quickly, all will be well.
