  1. I'm going through laser tattoo removal right now.  I really had to call around and check the pricing at each particular drs office because they varied so much. The first one I called charged $600 for each session. I ended up calling around 10 different ones. The one I chose was a skin & cancer center. They charge $75 per square inch, per session. How many sessions you will need depends upon how deep your tattoo is, what colors they used, the type of ink used, how long ago you got the tattoo, etc. They told me that they cannot remove red ink also. My tattoo was done at home around 15 years ago and it was semi-deep & black ink was used (professional tattoo ink). I have been through 2 sessions so far and I they expect it to be done in another 1 or 2 sessions. The laser itself does hurt...kind of like bees stinging you repeatedly. That "burning" feeling only lasts about an hour and then you have swelling, blistering, itching, peeling, etc. The session (lasering) is done very quickly..mine takes around 5 minutes..) I am happy that I am finally getting it done as my tattoo was on my wrist and it was very embarrassing to have now that I am a mom. As far as recommendations, I would say go for it. Just be sure to call around and get the best deal but get someone who is very experienced. You don't want someone dragging it out, costing you more fees just so they can rack up on money.  =)
