Question:

So called Reliable News?

Reuters News Agency always seemed like a reliable news source for international news and current events.......until I saw this (link below).

It shows a picture of so called Georgian soldiers arriving at a Georgian airbase. THEY ARE CLEARLY AMERICAN SOLDIERS STANDING IN FRONT OF A U.S. MILITARY CARGO PLANE! It even says U.S. Air force in big bold letters on the side of the plane!

Even their uniforms are the digital cammy's from the U.S. military.

Is there something I'm missing?

Our media is SO bent on making the Russian's always look like the bad guys when our government does the same things. It's sad.

Take a look and also read the caption next to it.

Tell me what you think!

  1. 'reuters' never was one of the best and reliable sources, it is good and up to date, but certainly not very reliable. The advantage reuters has is the spectrum of coverage, but doesn't necessarily mean it is balanced. They simply have a regional branch which can send news any way they want to.

  2. At first glance, it does look like they messed the captions up. But, who really knows?

Who can say that those soldiers aren't Georgian soldiers standing next to a U.S. Air Force plane? There is nothing saying that this is the exact plane that they arrived in.

I don't know, I wouldn't read too much into it though.

  3. The Georgian soldiers that were in Iraq are furnished with US made equipment.  They were airlifted from Iraq to Georgia in US aircraft.  The soldiers themselves in the picture probably are Georgians.
