AT&T and T-Mobile use GSM technology which require SIM cards.  As long as they both require the same technology, yes, you can switch...so to make a long answer short, yes you can.

you can buy an iphone from the apple store and put your t-mobile sim card into the at&t iphone.  Then download a program called ziphone that allows you to"jail break" your phone ... in other words it will activate your iphone on the t-mobile network.  It takes about 10 mins to do after you download ziphone, it is so easy ... just select the unlock and activate feature when you install ziphone on your iphone

yes!! if your contract is up and the phone is unlocked you can get a Sim from T-mobile!!

in the US you can switch between ATT and TM all you want!
