It was a very good movie, perhaps the best comic book movie ever.  It was very believable, almost like it could really happen. But, no, I don't think it lived up to the hype. I don't think any movie could live up to the hype that surrounded this film. If I hadn't heard a word about the film prior to it's release, I would have absolutely loved it, but after the monstrous hype fest that surrounded the film, I must admit, I was a little disappointed. After all, it was a Batman movie. It's not like it was groundbreaking or anything.

Yes, it's rather amazing, especially in IMAX... on opening day. :)

I saw it again, at a normal theater, with a subdued crowd, and it wasn't as fun an experience, but it's easily the best superhero-based movie made. It's not perfect, but it cranks up the meter on all the good elements in Batman Begins.

There are many great action scenes, but I can't shake the images of Batman wreaking havoc in the nightclub as he goes after Sal Maroni, who he then promptly drops and gives a case of painful ankles.

I think so. One of the reasons it was so much fun was not only the movie, but the participation and excitement of the crowd. You didn't have to wait for the movie to develop to be "involved." You were involved weeks before, i.e., preparing to attend. Painting your face, wearing costumes, etc. When the movie started, reality was already suspended, and you were in the movie.

i'm honestly more of a superman fan but i'm not gonna lie...that movie was awesome! it was also one of the longest movies i've ever seen :)
