  1. They make special pump systems that collect the waste and force it uphill/upstairs until it can tie into a drain.  Any good sized home repair store can show you what you need.  A neighbor of mine did that for his downstairs bathroom and has had no problems.

  2. Cut into the concrete, dont go with those pump systems, they are no good.

  3. Cutting into the concrete, assuming a standard residential house, is not that big a deal.  Draw some lines, rent a saw & chipping hammer, and you'll have it opened up in no time.

  4. Lay a fake floor over the concrete 2x6's on edge with a 3/4' plywood top .True you will have to step up but it should give you the clearance you need. That's how I put a full bath in the garage. It also makes it easier to work on in the future.

  5. buy a toilet with a 'P' trap that will go out through a wall rather than an 'S' trap that goes into the floor, and raise the shower/bath up on a platform so the waste pipes can run to a fall above the concrete.

  6. Yes unless you put in a pump but if that breaks down you're in trouble.
