I am 8 1/2 months pregnant with number two. I have a two year old son, my husband works 3rd shift and I am just wore out today. I let him eat "pigs in a blanket" for dinner. I feel a little bit guilty about it. Should I?

  1. no caviar?

  2. Nobody's perfect.  I'm no June Cleaver either.  Don't beat yourself up about it.

  3. Haha, nahh.

Hitting your kid with a shovel makes you a bad mom, not feeding him.

  4. My kids like "silly suppers" cereal, french toast, or pancakes, pigs in a blanket are fine.

  5. majority of kids love pigs in a blanket!

when i worked at a day care facility we made those for them a couple times for lunch.

    don't worry about it!

  6. If your a horrible mother, than I am even worse.  My children usually have a hotdog at least once a week for lunch.

  7. Absolutly not!

Pigs in a blanket are good.. and feeding them to your son does not make you a bad mom!

  8. just as long as you dont do it everyday. besides "pigs in a blanket" are good anyway.

  9. As long as he has a healthy diet there's nothing wrong with "pigs in a blanket" for dinner on occassion.

  10. Give yourself a little more credit here.  You say that you're worn out.  Your son isn't going to die or anything from eating some pigs in a blanket.  The important thing is that he had something to eat.  Pigs in a blanket probably aren't the healthiest things in the world, but having them from time to time never really hurt anyone so long as the goal is to maintain a healthful diet all around.  We can only do what we can do.  Life isn't easy.  You are not a horrible mother, so drop that guilt.

  11. no dont worry about it. you dont do it every day and as long as you teach your kids good eating habits they should be fine. if some people in calcutta, india have survived on their eating habits so far, i think your son will be fine. besides, life is not perfect and do you really think he will be able to eat healthy all the time? i dont think so.

  12. lol no i bet your a great mom i can tell just by the question.

  13. hey ur feeding him the best u can, ur not horrible

  14. Mercy no, that does not make you a horrible mom! Not as long as you serve Frito's and Pork 'N' Beans with it. Kids love it when mom takes a night away from heavy duty cooking.

  15. Call my mother and get her recipe for hamburger chow mien.

Pigs in a blanket are so good. You shouldn't feel guilty.

If you made you kid gag down that chow mien stuff I'd start to worry

about you. LOL.She also has a tamale pie you can stucco your house

    with.

good luck with the new little one!!!

  16. no...just dont let it happen too often

  17. make an appointment with a nutritionist to learn the benefits of better eating habits.

  18. Not at all. I have been working a lot of overtime this summer and lets put it this way, my son has three out of about five transformer toys from McDonalds. You all can hate on me now....be gentle.

  19. No, you are tired and you work hard enough. My husband and kids are used to the PB&J nights at our house.

  20. i let my daughter have chips and chocolate for dinner once (she loved it) i felt bad and took her to golden coral to eat the next day.  but we all have off days and a break from the stress and work doesn't make you a terrible mom.

  21. Cut yourself some slack.  The baby inside you needs you to take it easy, and it's fine to indulge the boy now and then.

The only people for whom junk food is a problem are those who indulge in it EVERY DAY, to the exclusion of healthy food.

One indulgence ins't going to hurt your boy.

Take it easy and good luck with #2!  My wife just had our second baby 3 months ago and our older daughter (who just turned 3 last week) absolutely ADORES her new brother.

  22. As mom we thing things need to be a certain way,  as long as you child eats things are fine.  Eating that way occasionally is fine.

  23. Are you kidding that is one lucky kid.

  24. Nope, not at all. I think every mom has those days on occasion. Pigs in a Blanket for dinner now and then will not hurt him :-)

I hope you feel better soon and I totally understand how you feel!

Hang in there, congrats on the new baby, and good luck for an uneventful labor and delivery.

  25. no

  26. no!!!! whyy???! thats perfectly fine

  27. Not at all. You are pregnant and things tend to be really hard sometimes. What's wrong with that anyway?

  28. Sweetie there are mothers that don't feed their kids.  Trust me you are doing great!  Should I feel guilty for tricking my son into thinking he wanted chick fil a when he really wanted mcdonalds - cause that's what we had!

  29. I wouldn't consider you to be a horrible mother,  but a hardworking wife and mother of soon to be 2. You can find healthier choices to make for dinner and not feel guilty. You can search in cookbooks or on-line for easy, quick, and healthy recipes to keep everything running perfectly. It's okay to do that once in a while, but not all the time. Good luck!

  30. Of course not! A little bit of everything is good! But try also to include crudities on his meal: baby carrots, grapes, sliced bananas, apples, and pears. Whole bread, jam with low or no sugar content, cheese cut in small cubes, stuff like that.

  31. Get serious.  I have 3 kids and they have eaten ice cream and Doritos for dinner.  This doesn't make you a bad mom.  It just makes you like the rest of us.  Find something else to worry about.
