I just asked if what i was experiencing is my mucous plug coming out and we kinda figure it is so one of the answers said that since it isn't little bits at a time and also because it has a brown tinge to it that means labor is sooner than later would you agree or does it matter if it's got "show" in it? like if its mostly clear, yellow, and whitish does that mean labor is probably later and a "show" in it means it's probably sooner? please help this actually makes since to me but I have no experience and the answerer has 3 kids and sounds like she knows what she's talking about?.....help?

  1. Mine came out all at once, was brown, and I still went two weeks.  It is no indication of going into labor, I'm sorry.  If you are experiencing any blood, you need to call the doctor, asap.  I called my OB and a nurse line and they both said it didn't give any indication.  It is different from the bloody show.  The bloody show is when the lining starts coming out and it looks like a period.  Best of luck!

  2. Mine was like snot colored but I still went into labor that night.

  3. this sounds like something you should ask your doctor. Sorry that I dont have any more advice, but things like this are def something they want to know about and can give you sound advice and reassurance on.  Please tell them asap, these women can only truly speculate.

  4. I just had to call my dr about an hour ago and ask if it was ok that mine was rather brownish, she said it was completely normal. As to if labor is near, I have no idea.

  5. My mucus plug fell out days maybe even a week and some before I actually went into labor. I don't think it matters on the color. Everyone is different. I say that if something did in fact come out just be ready for it. Your baby is due September 10, so you might have another week or two before your baby comes. Be on a close lookout for anything else that may come out. I remember something small coming out before the actual brown part came out. With my luck they both fell out two different times while I was taking my shower. So I never got a good look at it, but I knew what it was. Just have your bag ready for labor and watch for those contractions.

  6. When your plug releases, it just allows your water to break. Sometimes it can still take a while before the plug fully releases and your water breaks. When your water does break, then you are there, but if no trickle or gush of liquid with it, I wouldn't worry, it could still be weeks before you go into labor.

  7. Well, I lost my plug twice so far. The first time it was white with a little show-36 weeks. THe second time it was greenish, yellowish with brown show-37 weeks. The first one came out tiny bits at a time, and the second came out alot (tablespoons) at a time. When I told my mom about the second one, she said when she got that she had her baby within 24 hours. Its been a week since its happened and I'm not in labor yet. Its different for every woman and every pregnancy. Mucus plug alone isn't a reliable sign of labor...
