  1. There are lot of players, even though not of the calibre of Tendulkar, Dravid, Ganaguly etc. But there is lot of politics around. And there are five zones in India. East, West, South, North & Central Zones, each of which have representatives in the BCCI, and they lobby for players from their zones.

There is lot of domestic cricket played in India, and believe me, there is no telecast of most of the matches, only semifinals, finals etc are shown on telly. So there is no idea who is performing and who is not. You have to go by stats of players (To quote Benjamin Disraeli , "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, damned lies and statistics", popularised by Mark Twain).

Other than those already played for India, you will never who are better players until they are selected from the Indian team and perform.

So I could say, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina & Manoj Tiwary are a few players to watch for. And from the Under-19 team Virat Kohli, Tanmay Srivastava  & Saurabh Tiwary are good bets for National call up.

  2. There should be a judicious mix of the old and the new. In all types of the game. The experience of the game with fresh blood with take India to victory.

No. The 4 should not be replced just now.

Also GG does not count. He is already a part of the 'in' players.

  3. TEST CRICKET:

    Rahul Dravid - Rohit sharma

    piyush chawla(more than average spinner)

    yuvraj singh(batsmen)

    rohit sharma(batsmen)

thats the good thing about india we have soo much talent waiting to be exposed to the world...

and i dont think we should replace the big four just yet....

i think we should respect them and their contributions to indian cricket and let them retire on their own we should not pressure them.....

  5. Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Badrinath and Manoj Tiwari, Virat Kholi are some of the promising youngsters who can fill up the position when the elder players retire.
