This is a silly silly question and this is my first time experiencing being engaged so i have no clue. Well the ring he got me was one of those engagement sets that come with two parts of the ring (has a band and then has the band that has all the diamonds on it). During the engagement do i just wear the regular band?? haha, i feel stupid..oh well i need to know. Thanks :)

  1. the ring he bought is a set one is the engaement ring the other is the wedding band itself only wear the engagement ring for now its bad luck to wear the band before you are married

  2. Yes, wear the ring with the diamond center stone(s).  Keep the simpler band for later, that will be youer wedding band.  It was jsut sold as a set.

    congrats!

  3. the diamond ring is the for the engagement, then once you get married you wear both on the same finger

  4. You wear the ring with all the diamonds and then just the band or both after the wedding.  Most women just wear the band after the wedding to keep the engagement ring from getting scratched.  Congrats.

  5. Congrats!  Greyhound mama has it absolutely correct.  However, that is if you are in the USA.  In Europe they do it back words, wear the band for engagement and enhance it with the diamond part (what we call the engagement ring in the USA)!

  6. he shouldn't have given you both at the same time!  silly boy.  you just wear the engagement ring now, you don't put on the wedding band until your wedding.  he's gotta pick out a band for himself to wear too at some point before the wedding.

  7. I think the diamond band is for the engagement and the regular band is the wedding band.  So just wear the diamond one for now.

  8. First off, Congratulations!

Please don't feel stupid, it's a very good question.  The band with the diamonds is the engagement ring, while the plain band is your wedding band.  Wear the one with the diamonds now, then you can add the other band on your wedding day.

    Good luck!

  9. Nope, that's a very sensible question. You wear only the "engagement" half of the set until your wedding day - the one with all the diamonds. Then, during the ceremony, your fiance will put the wedding band (the normal, smooth band) on your finger along with the engagement ring. The two rings together represent that you are married, the single ring represents that you are engaged.

Once you are married, it's traditional to wear both rings together on the fourth finger of your left hand, with the wedding band (the normal smooth one) on the inside, closer to your heart.
