For you that don't have a clue:

Recession does not mean Recess time at school.

Depression does not mean you take a pill to avert the effect.

  1. It's just a way to get those that have nothing or live beyond their means to get all riled up.....and for political reasons.......where  I live, every weekend people are out in their Rvs and toys often there are more of them than space to hold them all.

You would think they way it's described there are tent cities everywhere and souplines forming on a daily basis.

  2. Good one!  Don't you mean "new Old" buzz words?  Ed's been predicting this was coming since the 90's.  He was right on about the Euro, the gas prices and it looks like he'll be right about this as well!  Said if we don't keep commerce here instead of sending things to other countries (can any one say NAFTA?) our economy will be going into the crapper!  Need I say more?  Did you know the (US) gov. is TAKING people's choice property up the most fertile part of the US to make a super highway that connects us with Canada and Mexico?  Bush did this without consent of Congress or Senate.  He signed all these things into law without telling anyone!  Can we say dictator?  He had made a comment (people thought he was kidding too!) that he wanted to be the first American Dictator is history!

  3. How long do you wait in line at some restaurants?  Recession?

Take a look around any lake or coast and count the boats.

    Recession?

Visit any electronic store with all the latest high tech.

    Recession?

Drive down any interstate and count the trucks moving goods.

    Recession?

Count the automobiles on the road costing 40K up.

    Recession?

    Depression?

When pork chops are 10 cents a pound and no one has 10 cents to buy them, that's/was the depression.

Can you say, "Brainwashed" by hate filled politicians?

  4. I heard the "D" word for the first time this morning.  Doesn't look good.  Thanks, George. ( You got yours, though, didn't you?)

To ed:  Well, it's just now getting around to the upper middle class.  You know, those people with the portfolios.
