So how does filing for divorce work?

Tomorrow I am going to file for divorce from my husband. He lives with his mother and does not want to fix our marriage that he broke up by playing video games and going to friends houses. I live in Tx, and was told it would be $250.00 to file, but I was also told by an attorney that I could file "indigent" meaning I have no money and am a student (which I am). How long does it take for him to be served with papers? What will happen when the sheriff does serve him (at his moms, lol). Will we go to trial? We have a 15. month old son also.

Lucky you!! My divorce cost me 5000.00 If you and your husband can agree on terms do that there will be no trail just a simple yes or no question in front of the judge.Good luck!!
