  1. If your looking for names, The Giant Red Storm might be one of them. Its been going on for millions of years!!

  2. There are indeed alot of storms happening on Jupiter. The most famous is the Big Spot that has been going on for more than 100 years. Did you know, when Jupiter was first discovered the Big Spot storm hadn't started?

Jupiter is a ball of gas with no solid surface. Many gasses are constantly moving about on the planet and because the gasses are very unstable there is a constant stream of reactions making new gasses and starting storms.

There is no way of actually counting them because by the time you've finished, even more have started.

  3. There are currently 3 major storms.  The Great Red Spot, The Little Red Spot (Red Spot Jr.) is officially named Oval BA, and then there's the newest one which hasn't been named yet.   http://space.newscientist.com/article/dn...

There aren't any black spots on Jupiter; you might be thinking of the Great Dark Spot that was seen on Neptune.   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Dark_...

  4. Like earth they are popping up at all times, there could be millions going on at any one time.
