  1. They don't use the Irish system, you can't compare them.

    They are using the British system to calculate the points.

    They need you to get a minimum of 240 under the British scoring system (it's available through UCAS, if you scroll down it clearly shows the Leaving Cert grading system & shows the points assigned to each grade so you can work it out for yourself http://www.ucas.ac.uk/students/ucas_tari...

    They also expect you to get the following minimum grades in 5 of your subjects B B C C C

    B1 = 71 UCAS points

    C1 = 52 UCAS points

    If you got 2 B1s and 3 C1s in your Leaving Cert, you would have more then enough points to get in.

    I would advise you to ring them & ask to speak to someone at the University, they'll be able to explain to you in more detail how the system works and what they need to get as a minimum requirement to enter the University

    You could also try posting this question in the UK section or under the  Education & Reference section, there may be someone who is better able to explain how the system works

    Edit: Presuming it's Honours Level, 2 B1s & 3 C1s are the equivalent of 380 points under the CAO/CAS.
