Well just think how much money Obama made on everyone that signed up for a stupid text when he could of went on Headline News and everyone could of heard it for free. Instead he made money on all you stupid supporters...It just shows how money hungry Obama really is.

  1. He truly is a money grubber who wants to control the purse strings of the US, he will probably appoint Jefferson of New Orleans to be Secretary of the Treasury.

  2. Yep. I agree 100%!!!  Such a stupid ploy to make money.  Ridiculous.  I would feel that way about ANY candidate, regardless of what party or what age or whatever!

  3. I did not. The AP broke the news HOURS earlier than the text anyways. Looks like a lot of sheep got suckered into that one.

  4. They havent got their text yet, lol Its joe biden lol lol Obamas a loser

  5. it was smart.  because all the people who signed up will also be getting a text on election day asking them to come out and vote for Obama.

McCain does not google (out of touch)

does McCain even know what a text message is ?

  6. lol not me!

    **suckahs**

  7. The Obama campaign never released the numbers -except in very vague generalities. One of their spokesmen said, "Hundreds of thousand..." and then quickly caught herself and corrected to "Million of ...."

I was told that the IT people hadn't thought the project through and there were some real problems.

    1) Nobody realized that they couldn't send a blast text message of that quantity all at once, particularly during daytime hours, without jamming the capacity of Sprint, the Obama contract carrier.  Tech has its limits, even for The One.

    2) Not as many people signed up as they had expected.  Their supporters knew that they'd hear about it right away anyhow through RSS feeds and other means.  Every journalist in America was on the text alert. The PR value wasn't there.

    3) The campaign was using this as part of their Get Out The Vote (GOTV) program and hoped to use the email and cell numbers for election day to remind people to vote.

They might have announced the VP earlier in the week but dragged it out hoping to get more people to participate.  They were, in effect, jerking people around.

    4) There was no way that the Obama campaign was going to keep this a secret with the way they had planned his schedule.

By Thursday, people pretty well knew that it was Biden and the story had crested.

Obama made an appearance in Richmond, VA, where he treated local dignitaries, including Gov. Tim Kaine, disrespectfully, removing all doubts that Kaine was in the running.

    5) On Friday, a private jet from Chicago arrived at the small airport near Biden's home on Delaware and sat on the runway. Hard to hide. Then the Secret Service showed up. Everyone the world to whom Biden was related was at Biden's home dressed up in their best clothes.

    6) The Obama campaign finally told the media just after midnight and then began trying to text around 3 AM.

The text messages jammed the circuits and it took hours to send them out with some people never receiving them.

Others complained of being waked up in the middle of the night when the Obama campaign had issued a statement saying the message would come after 10 AM Saturday.

    7) By Saturday afternoon, Hillary supporters were seeing a plot.  They said that sending the message at 3 AM was a gotcha at Hillary for the 3 AM phone call ad she had run during the campaign.

The entire text message idea was badly planned and executed.

It probably made more people angry than it made friends, and they got few new names and numbers.
