Previous to the 1980's, Industry dealt with a strong regulatory environment. It checked abuse of industry on humanity and kept the greed of corporate America at bay. America has been conned. We were sold the idea that the illegal alien problem was an issue that we needed to address and that NAFTA and other agreements would allow corporate America to create a new middle class in Mexico. Instead, Corporate America sent the Jobs to China where there is no regulation or even the ability of the people to form unions. Walmart walks around telling their managers that Unions are the problem and they are saving us from them. Meanwhile the rich get richer and move off shore and pay less taxes. It's time to wise up America and put the bridle back on American Industry. Wake up America. How much of Trickle down economics has come your way?

  1. I had a little hotel in Mexico, treated and paid my workers well and paid taxes.  All was legal and in order.  When taxes got too high and the government too intrusive, I sold it.  Ten people had to look elsewhere for jobs.  That is all I know.   I just wasn't worth my dealing with the headaches any more.

  2. someone has put a gutter up and is diverting the trickle abroad 'cause it ain't trickling here!

  3. Quite a bit.  Most people are blind to trickle down effects because they take for granted the things they use everyday that came to them via trickle down.

My relatively inexpensive car is much more reliable, comfortable and safe than the car I drove 10 or 20 years ago.  My computer is millions of times more powerful than 20 years ago.  The only person I recall having a cell phone in the 80s was Gordon Gekko in the movie Wall Street, now everybody and everybodys' kids have one.  I didn't have access to the Internet and sure as heck couldn't carry my entire music collection around with me in my pocket along with a few movies and my entire photo library.  Food is cheap now, even with recent price increases.  I can afford to eat out much more now and have a much wider selection of places to choose from than I did 20 years ago.

I recently had a life saving surgery and the method had been improved substantially in the last few years speeding up recovery time, minimizing body scarring and minimizing the risk for infection.  In comparing notes with others who had the same surgery before the improvements, I'm glad I it waited.

Roads are better, medicines are improving all the time, medical diagnosis is improving, TVs are flat, you can e-mail from a handheld device, there's no need to get lost since we have GPS devices...it seems we have a lot of stuff in abundance.

What do you think trickle down is?  Do you think its supposed to help everyone live a life of Paris Hilton?  Sorry, but it doens't work quite like that.  What it does is improve the standard of living of people of all income levels.  It's done that.
