So i have a question to ask and if anyone might knows or might know what to do about it please tell me... Well i bought a bird a couple weeks ago. I'm 16 and my parents hate it because my mom cleans my house like everyday and she does not want the bird to get it dirty. So i put it in my room. I have it in a cage and i like to keep the cage open for him because he flies. So the cage is almost always open. And the bird has two bowls one food, and one water. The food bowl is completely empty by like 10:30, 11:00. So i go to bed at like one or two in the morning. While i am up watching television, on the computer, listening to the Jonas Brothers, whatever i am doing. My bird sits there and sleeps no big deal. But in my room i have legos on the floor. The d**n bird when i go to sleep flies his *** down on to the floor picks up legos in his mouth and repeats this until his food bowl is full of legos and it s d**n big bowl. And so i am sleeping while this is going on. And after its full he takes one by one and throws the legos at me while I am lying in bed sleeping. I saw it one night the bird didn't notice me watching. So when he does this i am forced to lay under my cover and sheets trembling until someone comes in to help me. And who knows when that could be cause i wake myself up in the morning while my parents are at work so yes i have actually missed school because of the bird throwing legos at me. This is no suppose to be funny, this is serious. If ANYONE has any suggestions i am open to them.

Thanks a lot =)

  1. Ok, first I thought you were kidding....

What kind of bird you have? I agree with the previous answer. Your bird doesn't want to hurt you. He just wants to let you know something. Do you feed him properly? He should have some food and water at the cage 24 hours. Only fresh foods that can spoil fast should be removed from the cage after few hours.

Also you need to get him some toys to play with. Read up something about your breed, so you know what size to buy. Toys are the must with all pet birds. They keep them occupied and they help the bird excercise his abilities and creativity.

The last thing is the night-night time. Every night put the bird to the cage and cover it at least partially. Try to do it around the same time each evening.

It's dangerous for the birds to wander around the dark places. Their vision is very weak in the darkness and he could hurt or kill itself.

Also you are 16. You don't need to be afraid of your pet bird, lol.

And please, read up about your bird's species. The more you know, the better life you can give him and more you two will bond together. Birds are social creatures and they need to be loved and properly cared for. If you do so, you will have the best friend for many many years to come.

    Good luck!

  2. This is very questionable.  If it is true, first off you should not have gotten an animal without knowing that you could properly take care of it and that you would be allowed to keep it.  Also, do not leave the cage open if you are not in vision of him.  He can hurt himself and there would be no one around to help him.  He plays with lego because birds need foot toys to work their beaks and leg muscles (although I don't know why you have lego at 16).  And if you don't want him trying to play with you while you sleep, shut the cage door, which should already be sleep because you are not supervising him, and move the cage away from your bed....

  3. i no that u dont want to lock him up at night but its the best thing to do.coz he needs to sleep at night and u need to go to school

or put the legos away at night

    hope this helps

  4. well their something wrong with ur bird XD but try keeping the bird in its cage at night and let him Rome ur room in the morning

  5. close the cage!

  6. Seems to me like if you get rid of the legos, you'll solve the problem....right?
