  1. I have a great (better) cure. I get swimmers ear a lot from scuba diving.

Go to your local drugstore and by any swimmers ear. I bought SWIM-ear. This has 95% alcohol in it and 5% of a moisurizer. The missing ingredient is an acidic that kills the natural bacteria that grows when you get swimmers ear. So, empty 1/2 of the new bottle of SWIM-ear and fill it back up with clear vinegar. This should do the trick quickly.

  2. I am guessing you bought swimmer's ear prevention drops (e.g., rubbing alcohol), and do not have medicine drops.  Medicine drops, you get from the doctor, are prescription, and will have directions on the box (or call the pharmacist if you threw when away)

Preventative drops may do the job for you, however.  This is not medically-based advice, so you should ask your doctor, but for me, I have had significant luck putting drops in the affected ear when I go to sleep, with a cotton ball--with the goal being to keep the drops in my ear as long as possible at night (eventually, I will turn over--but the longer it can last the better).  After a few nights, my swimmer's ear is usually gone.  But the drops the doctor are usually more effective (but you need a doctor's appointment, and need to pay your deductible).

  3. Just try it and wait for at least half a day, and see how it is later. You can also try a drop or two of alcohol, and it will work well too. Are you sure you didn't miss the directions on the box? sometimes it's in quite small print.

  4. bout a week drop in after you get water in your ears
