I've never seen a register with pictures on it- and i wonder how that would work? Are there more pages on the register, then another one, and how would you ring up say a large iced carmel iced coffee with 2 sugar since all coffee would look the same on the registar right? has anyone seen one of these? The ones at my store have lil buttons with abbreviations phcl- for hot chocolate, qpc for quater pounder ect. and we have a couple pages per menu either breakfast or lunch and the coresponding grill pages for both.

  1. the pics are there so employees don't have to spend lots of time punching in number totals for a certain item,

  2. They usually have them in areas where the employees may be able to speak and understand English, but cannot read it. You would think they could make Spanish registers, but go figure.

  3. A while back Whopper Burger did the same thing but it didn't help.  I ordered two whopper burgers and two cokes.  The girl behind the register was new to this country and she had pictures on the register because she wasn't too sure about the different amounts.  So she pressed whopper burger picture twice and did the same for the cokes. I gave her a ten to cover the cost and she gave me change for a twenty which I of course quickly returned. It goes to show you have to have a basic understanding the language and math because pictures alone won't do it.

  4. I haven't seen a register in years like that but they used to have pictures for people that didn't speak English. It could have been before they had so many items or maybe they have more pages now. They used to have pictures of the burgers, fries and drinks.
