  1. dont believe those people.they dont know what they are talkin about.

  2. There really isn't a need for omitting any questions because you can't expect every one of them to be giveaways. But I do think they should add 2-3 more points on the curve because the curves are really bad for people aiming for around the 70s or 80s.

IMO the Chemistry Regents was fair. The thing about Chemistry is that in order to learn it you need to have patience and understand the material in order to succeed in the Regents. And one more problem is people find Chemistry quite boring which makes it even harder to learn.

  3. What question was this about?

  4. The state can do whatever it chooses to do. After all, the state made the test.

I have not heard about this, it is merely a rumor. It is not unlikely though, they change tests quite often.

What is most likely to occur, is that the curve will be changed to take that bad question into account, the question probably won't be omitted. That way, people who got it correct aren't penalized.

It can only make your grade better. (I think)

cazdudet: You are definitely right about testing certain questions. They state often sends out one or two questions called "field tests". They then compile the results and use them to assess how the teachers are teaching, and what needs to be improved upon.

  6. I haven't heard of this. Honestly all of the questions were fair game. There were a few, maybe 3 or 4 that were tough but that is the point of a test, they aren't supposed to be all easy. Everyone who knew the material got above an 85 in my school, so I don't see the purpose of omitting questions. I got a 98, as I missed one multiple choice which I wasn't sure what answer it was, but omitting questions is ridiculous. Grades are already inflated as is.

Edit: Regents questions are tested on students ahead of time. If there is one question which no one gets right, or everyone gets right it will most likely not appear on the regents. However, if they do decide to get rid of a question it will probably only increase the grade of people who got it wrong, maybe by a point.

  7. That H+ acceptor question was supposedly not Regents material according to my book. I'm still wondering why a Brønsted-Lowry theory question would be placed on the Regents.
