and i was just wondering if anyone knew of a way to check if the engine in it was the original or if it has been replaced

the VIN number should be somewhere on the engine block. Call your local Honda Dealer and give them your vin# if that matches, then its the original. Or take it to the Honda dealer and let them check it out
