Okay, well my hair is caramel kinda bronzish. My dark brown hair was continuously dyed blond 2 years ago ( it is still in my hair, my hair doesn't grow fast). My hair is duo toned or whatnot and it looks horrible :( i don't want to damage my hair so i can't dye it. I heard :

"Get some fresh coffee, mix with cold water, make into a paste,or wet solution, and apply to hair with a dying brush or soak hair in it, leave in hair for around one hour, and wash out after use, you may repeat to get to your desired level of darkness."

would that work? how long would it last? etc.

Please help! school is in two days :(

also.. after i used the coffee mixture, if i used pantene brunette expressions, would that keep it from fading?

  1. Stop! do not do the coffee thing. This coming from someone who used to color her hair with concentrated Kool-Aid! Coloring your hair can be damaging , but dark colors are less abrasive. i would suggest you save some money and head to a salon. They can safely dye your hair back to a natural light brown that will be easy to maintain.

  2. you said this

    to my question

they say your hair grows half an inch a month. For some people it is different, because of genetics.

Personally, my hair grows realllllyyy slow so i take vitimans and i rub my sclap for 5 minutes before i go to sleep and when i'm washing my hair. Also, try not to wash your hair unless nessecary because the oils help it grow. OO and make sure you don't have any split ends, i use Herbal Essences "Long Term Relationship Leave in split end protector" and stay away from HEAT!! ( blow dryers, strighteners etc)

you should have long hair in no time! haha my hair has grown 3 inches seince i started doing this routine! good luck!

how long ago did you start doing that

and an answer to your question

go to sallys and ask someone whats the best way to get darker without harmful chemicals im sure they will have something

  3. I've been a hairstylist for 20 years and have never heard of that.  What I would do is go to the store or a beauty supply store like sally beauty supply if you have one.  Get a color type called semi-permanent color.  It will say something like lasts for up to 20 shampoos or something like that.  Buy a medium brown color or even dark brown but be careful, your bleached hair might suck it in.  Make sure it has a little of a red shade to it like a medium or dark reddish brown.  Don't use anything else, your hair will grab the toning shade and could turn green or blue.  When hair is bleached it can grab even darker when using a tint(hair color).  Take my advice and pick a pretty medium reddish brown.  Do what it says.  The semi-permanent color doesn't have hardly any peroxide in it, it's more of a stain.  It won't last a super long time.  If your hair is really damaged it might get dark at first but just watch it and follow directions.  It should be ok.  PS don't use a henna it can not be removed and once you use it you can never use hair color or bleach again until it grows out.  If you need more help let me know. I'm happy to help. I love color.

  4. i think it'd fade, andddd, just dye it.

that way it will last longer also.

To make sure you dont damage your hair, get a shampoo thats meant to fix it.

I use Herbal Essences "breaks Over" to do this, i dye my hair a lot

  5. I used the coffee thing, but I just made really really strong coffee and dabbed it on my hair with a cotton ball, and it made my hair a tiny bit darker, and smelled soooooo good. It also makes your hair nice smooth and shiny, not sticky or anything I thought it would. But don't expect it to darken a lot. Just try it out, I don't think coffee ruins your hair more than shampoo would, and coffee isn't expensive.

  6. Coffee and water mixed together make a paste texture? I have not heard of that before, but if enough people swear by it, then it could be worth a try. :-)

The most common complaint I hear about bleaching (or any type of long-term coloring) seems to be that it leaves the hair extremely dry. So if the coffee thing does not work, you could go for light shampoos and heavy conditioners. I have heard that a common chemical in shampoo called Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is not so good for hair. My mom uses shampoo without that chemical for her delicate hair and she says if works well.

Anyway, good luck with that. D:

  7. if you dye your hair a darker color it wont damage it as much

  8. hmm

  9. don't mess around with home remedies go to the salon and they will fix it professionally

  10. if you totally hate your hair then you should do a Brittany and shave it all off... then got to the local wig store and buy yourself a new question...
