okay so today i drove to school in my 200 honda civic that i had just purchased and got licensed friday. as i was leaving the parking lot there is a stop light at the front entrance. the girl in front of me was stopped so was i and the guy behind me. But this a*****e named jon behind him was trying to show off to his gf and was going a good 30 mph at least. he hit the guy in front of him, who hit me, then got pushed into the girl in front of me. but he was the only person moving. the rest of us involved were all stopped at the light and we all have witnesses. so is he going to have to pay for everything? or are we all going to have to pay for the damages.

my cars chasi is bent up and prolly isn't safe to drive. do you think the insurance company will consider it totalled? also jons truck was totalled. but it isn't his truck its his dads company car. isn't it illegal for someone who doesn't work for the company to drive the company car?

  1. Had the same thing happen to me. Even though the accident wasn't my fault because of the chain reaction i hit the lady in front of me and was responsible for the damage to her car. You will need to check with your insurance company though.

  2. You really only need to worry about your vehicle.  The person who was at fautl, I think it's Jon, would owe for all the vehicles.  As long as he had permission to be driving it and is not specifically excluded from the policy then Jon's policy would pay for the damages.

  3. You need to call your insurer and file a claim. They will sort out this whole mess and return your deductible to you when the smoke clears.
