  1. Chameleons are known to be a very hard first reptile to buy, being pets that need exact temperatures, humidity, size of the enclosure, food and the eye of an experienced or enlightened keeper. I'd think first before buying one and go for, as said above, maybe a gecko or a dragon.

  2. All depends on size is right, but here is a list of foods. Pick depending on your chameleon's size. Doing some research will also help for this.

Variety is always better, mix up the food type offered every week or so. Or combine 2 types of food for each feeding.

crickets, superworms, mealworms, waxworms, hornworms , mantids, roaches, houseflies, and fruit flies.

  3. Sorry to break it to you but as I said in your last question, exotic reptiles are illegal to keep in all states of Australia.

You might want to look around and research some native dragons or geckos instead?

    Hope this helps!

  4. it depends on the size of the chameleo. Most of them are fed crickets by pet stores and that's what mine used to eat.

You can keep crickets in a container and throw a few in every day or give him a big batch (10ish) twice a week.

They eat when they are hungry and it doesnt take as long for them to digest food as it does for snakes.

Dust the crickets with calcium powder first though.
