So if macbeth didn't hire murderers to kill macduffs family, would macduff still have killed macbeth?

because he was ripped out of his mother, and because eh was suspicious.

its for an essay and i think i m thinking wayy to much about this.

  1. well i read macbeth last year and we talked about it in class. I think it is that whole question about how much the witch's perdict verses how the charcters react ro the predictions. i think that the witchs made their predictions knowing what macbeth would do with that information and knowing how he would react. I think that he had the choice to not send the assasins which wouldnt have lead to his death but the fact is... he did. If you want more proof for this you can look for quotes surrounding the kings murder. It is a very simmilar question of free will verses the witch perdictions. Good luck with your essay.


  2. I think Macduff would still have killed Macbeth. Before his family was murdered, he was already plotting against Macbeth, so he could restore Malcom to the throne.  Besides, the Weird Sisters had already determined "none of woman borne shall harm Macbeth", so Macduff fit the description, and no other of Macbeth's enemies (as far was we know) can claim the same.  

    Macbeth decided on his own to murder Macduff's family, but all it did was really add fuel to the fire.
