  1. Finding life on another planet doesnt mean there is no god.  God put things in place like animals and basically told us to learn about them... to study them, so i dont see how us finding alien life would prove god doesnt exist...

i do agree with you about scientists going out of their way to prove that god doesnt exist, because they don't believe in him and they think it's foolish that someone else might... from the scientists looking at the universe to the scientist analyzing christ's death/resurrection thingy, they are just trying to prove their stance in their concept of god.  It's a shame though, because the way i see it, if you are an atheist then you have no chance of salvation, you live a crappy life and then you die, but at least with picking a religion you have a chance at something greater... it's like playing the lottery for free

  2. They arent TRYING to prove that there is no god. Scientist's jobs are to find out new things things that makes sense. NO there would be no suicideing or wide spread panic(for some maybe). People would just be like "hey we were wrong there is no god" and look at it this way its not liek EVERYONE is a beliver in god. Just live life to the fulliest. Ask your friends who do not believe in god

  3. They won't, so please quit this this foolishness....this is it, we are it, end of story. there are no aliens, ghosts, goblins, demons, angels...get over it and get on with your life.

  4. I don't see how it would prove there is no God. Wouldn't that mean we aren't the only life forms God created? I'm sure if we learn that their spiritual beliefs are anything other than Christian, we'll immediately send missionaries to teach them of the one true God. (I'm being sarcastic.)

  5. it dosen't mean theres no God, whos to say he doesnt't create life on other planets,

  6. It would?

Only Atheists believe Science and Religion are mutually exclusive.

  7. Life outside of earth has no direct relationship with the existence or non-existence of a god. It may have an impact on the notion that some religion have of a god, however. But that is their problem, not science. Science is about finding reality, and understanding how reality works.

If there is life on other planets, then there is life on other planets, period.

It would be up to the various religions to deal with the fact (although at this point, it is only the *possibility* of the fact) rather than try to ignore it. Science already has its hand full with the creationists who try to oppose teaching of evolution because it goes against what is in their bible, what will be next? Nuke other planets so there is no life there anymore?

Basically, religion should keep away from science. Whenever they try to mix religion with science, things get really messy; so better keep them separated.

  8. As I always say there is always a possibility we don't know we've only explored our galaxy, taken pictures of other galaxies, and sent messages which after so long just turn into garble. So what if we find life and there is no god it isn't ethical to believe in a higher power than ourselves. Now if there is life out there it might be silicone based and not carbon based http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silicon#Sil... and I think it would be nice to know were not alone and not the only life.

  9. Life on other planets just means there are more creatures to lure towards my pants with peanut butter.

Gosh I hope they got a purdy mouth.

  10. its a lot more complicated than that. scientists aren't trying to show people anything. they're measuring nature and reporting what they find. if they were trying to push a specific agenda, it couldn't be called science at all. mostly, what they've discovered contradicts religious beliefs to some extent, and invalidates some historical and scientific information from scripture, but nobody can prove whether god exists or not. so far.

  11. OR..... It could mean yet another god theory

  12. VERY GOOD POINT VINCIENT G. ARE THEY GOING TO START NUKING OTHER PLANTS NOW???

  13. you hominid fools !

The Feline is your GOD and most hominids have forgot this !

    : )

  14. Scientists don't care about god. They are looking for the truth. Many people already know that there is no god and they are not in panic.

  15. The religion adjusted to scientific discoveries. Many even don't deny the Big Bang, instead they claim that the Big Bang was god's work. So, no, discovery of life on a new planet will not be a death blow to mass religion. They will just say: See how great is our god - he created life on many planets.

  16. no that wouldn't prove there is no god.  everyone is making up a whole bunch of c**p about how there might be no god, god does this, god does that... did anyone ever stop to think that god created the whole universe?? god created us as intelligent humans to expand our own horizons.

  17. Not everyone who believes in God believes the same things about God or about space aliens.  So not everyone would consider those beliefs incompatible.

The Catholic church, for example, has already weighed in on this question.  Their interpretation is that space aliens would also be God's creation and that nothing in the discovery of life outside of Earth would pose a crisis of faith for Catholics.

Other churches may vary.  Ultimately it's up to everyone to reconcile all his beliefs according to the sources for them.

  18. i was Baptized, and I don't see why live on another planet should be devastating to anyone.

I don't recall that the Bible said "and no living being was placed on another planet."

I do think the probabilities of us finding other life are small, but real.

  19. we wouldn't find life on another planet because there is none simple as that

  20. The bible, or should I say any bible, does not say there isn'Interpretationhere isn't.  Interperatation  of the bible is based on people's own perspectives and wishes.  People say there is no life on other planets because that is what they want to be true.  Science and religion always seem to be trying to prove each other wrong instead of coexisting.  Here's a little known fact, when the idea of the big bang first was introduced much of the catholic church supported it because it showed that there was a starting point where before there was just nothing.  Kinda sounds like the creation concept.  If there was just one way to believe in something and only one person was right then there wouldn't be so many different sects among all the religions
