2 degrees, why don't people listen? When scientists are saying that a rise of 4 or 5 degrees will spell disaster and wipe out life in the rainforest, the oceans and they will rise 15 or 20 meters effectively leaving the North/South poles to be inhabited by possibly 8-10 billion people?

Should not just the POSSIBILITY of this being true be enough for people to consider and take what scientists and THOUSANDS of independent studies are saying is fact, as TRUTH?

Beyond me. I mean we won't be here but today's infants and toddlers will. Nice legacy.

The problem with your premis is that there is zero scientific data to back up the AGW theory. Why would anyone advocate an extreme position with no evidence?

You can't ask people to do things voluntarily. People have to be told what to do and made to do it. If scientists and governments are waiting for the people to change the world and not themselves, we are doomed.

not to worry the earth will correct it's self much like it has done so far this past winter. if in fact global warming is real we can't do anything to prevent it, because it has already happened. nor can we stop it because it is not a man made thing.

you do realize that the temp decreased this past year enough to offset any increase over the past 100 years? and you do realize that this was one of the cooliest winters across the US in decades? and you do realize that it snowed for the frist time in recorded HISTORY (1000's of years) in baghdad? and do you realize that artic temperatures are decreasing? man made global warming is not proven. read a science journal, watch the weather channel, do anything but listen to that fool of a person al gore who is using scare tatics to advance his own political agenda

Eve, I'm so with you!  However, ppl think that it's everyone else's fault or simply not true.  Also, there's the whole Darwin thing that comes into play... all species have a 99.9% failure rate.  It's obvious for humans.  For years, we smeared Mercury on our faces to improve our complications, smoked cigarettes,  still use carcinogens to color our hair, spray on our food, and to prevent childbirth, use CFCs, have unprotected s*x, etc.  The list goes on and on and we just keep doing stupid things until a law is passed, or something is no longer available, or we die.  I hope the little ones are smarter than us.
