So if we really ARE one country, how come we have provinces territories and each has thier own flag?

i mean really, were Canadians, Manitobans, british columbians, albertans ect, what are we more or what is more important, being Canadians, or Manitobans, or provincial flags over the Canadian flag? THAT RIGHT THERE TO ME MAKES UU LOOK SOMEWHAT FOREIGHN TO EACH OTHER!

  2. Well really isn't that what the Greeks did so many thousands of years ago. Sparta, Athens,  etc.  I guess it's just a way of representing your area of the nation.  I guess it could be a form of control over nationalism. That's kind of a stretch with that last part...

  3. Because in Canada it is ok to have diversity and to have many different symbols.

  4. Well.. you know, every U.S. state has its own flag too right? So wouldn't it make sense to have each province/territory in Canado to have its own flag too?

    Just because Canada is all one country, just like the U.S. is, doesn't mean it should complete obliterate all province flags.
