requirement that car manufacturers have hybrid engines in all cars? There would be a savings of 10 billion gallons of gas a year. We would get off the oil train from the middle east, we would clean up the environment, and it would save billions in gas costs for consumers.

  1. First of all, we use 140 billion gallons of gas a year in the U.S.  Saving 10 billion is not going to get us off the OPEC sucker list.

    Secondly, the government can't pass laws telling anybody what kind of engines to put in cars. They would certainly be declared unconstitutional within five minutes.  And third, we don't need the laws.  The price of gas will make hybrids the choice of more and more people until they become the most common design, until we can develop the hydrogen fuel cell or some other way to get away from being dependent on a bunch of ragheaded fanatics and crackpot dictators for our most important source of energy.


  2. Yes.

    Technology upgradation or improvement is an ongoing process. As new problems or issues are discovered, newer solutions are found.

    Hybrid or what - the answer leads to development of new technology.
