So is Shaolin boxing a type of kung fu?

im confused. i've just started doing shaolin boxing.... could you call it kung fu aswell?

shaolin boxing is simply another way of saying shaolin kung-fu. you could also call it shaolin  chuan because chuan is mandarin/chinese for fist or boxing. chinese kung-fu is constantly referred to as chinese boxing. the only difference is there are literally thousands of king-fu styles in existence and counting so the forms, terminology, pronunciation and methods of fighting will have similarities and contrasts. typically a martial arts name is a synonym when it comes to chinese martial arts. join my group: allma or all martial arts

I born japan, not speak chinese, my lover speak chinese and japanese, he say wu shu mean martial art, kung fu mean great achievement any fields maybe in martial art. Shorin Japanese Shaolin, my lover teach me some, it boxing style. Chin Na chinese grappling style like japanese jiujitsu and aikido.
