  1. .There is no difference between black/ white. Those here will say there is a difference, but its all magic. Voodoo, sorcery. All of it is idolatry and paganism. Lucifer was cast out of heaven and given domain over the earth, the air, the, sky, and the waters. What do all these practices worship? Mother earth, the four winds, the power of water,  planetary alignments, and false gods, as in idols. In some cases calling themselves gods. The only power they have is the power somebody gives them. If you don't believe, they cant hurt or affect you. I mean no slight to anybodies beliefs, the asker wanted my reasons and I have given them.

  2. It's just magick, black and white magick is nothing more than a abstract concept to justify a guilty conscience due to Christian concepts of good an evil. Since according to Christian doctrine all magick is the work of the devil there can be no such thing as good magick. And since good and evil are merely abstract concepts that don't actually exist black and white magick does not exist, so it is just magick.

  3. Some witches claim magick is just magick and there is no white or black but the intent. I do agree with the intent but I also believe there is negative magick which is also considered black magick.

Now magick is not good or evil in and of itself. it is not from Satan or demons that Is a Christian concept and is wrong.

Since I practice Wicca to me  any magick done in a negative way is wrong. It is wrong to try an control another person like in a love spell and it is wrong to try and harm people by using magick, but in cases of self defense it is alright to cast protection spells and to bind people from harming us but that is all.

Black magick would of course be those spells to harm or manipulate people against their will.

  4. I think its just magic, black, white, pink with yellow polka dots is still magic.  And I certainly believe in it. althoug it might also have a very scientific explanation that my humble brain might never understand (am a tacher and still can not understand some basic third grae chemistry thingies...sigh)

But it is just magic, however, I also believe that not all the intentions are good or bad, and sometimes we do things with a mix of both, but I think that has to do more with morality than with magic

  5. Magic is a tool.  It has no moral disposition.  Talking about black magic is like calling a hammer used by a murderer a "black hammer," versus one used to build a house being a "white hammer."  It's just a hammer, equally able to to do either.

Putting the ethics on the magic takes it away from the user.  I have come across several people who thought they could use magic without thought because they used white magic and white magic couldn't possibly cause any harm.

  6. There is only black magic which is evil in nature and entertaining magic which is financial in nature. In black magic you owe someone or something for your power like a demon or something, maybe the devil himself. In entertainment magic you just pretend and do tricks.

  7. There is no such thing as white or black magic. All magic is evil as it is an attempt to decieve people.

This does not include illusionists, or entertainers, only witches, and psychics, and mediums, and those who claim thier magic arts are real.

edit: Most wiccan/pagan magic users are self-deluded. They want to believe they have magic powers very badly. The idea is backed up by whats known as confirmation bias.

Lets say one night they decide to cast some spells. They will remember all the spells that happened, and forget the ones that were duds. They wont care if the odds of the coincidence were in their favor, they want to believe and this confirms thier belief.

Think from a physics perspective. What mechanism in nature will force someone to fall in love with you by lighting candles around a pentagram and chanting an incantation? None, when you analyze it from a logical perspective, its just non-sense.

The moment someone proves me wrong, I will appologize to all magic users, and admit my mistake gladly. I have no pride, nor am I biased against magic. I am simply pointing out what is logical.

  8. Here's the deal on magic: whether "black" or "white" it all pertains to the aquisition and application of esoteric knowledge which God adamantly forbids throughout the scriptures. It was this curiousity that caused Adam and Eve to disobey God and eat of "the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil" thus putting all future generations under the yoke of sin and satan.

In essence, there is no such thing as black or white magic, or magic for good or evil. The Lord God considers it all evil as it is, at heart, a sinfully selfish desire to know and control that which is only available to God and His angels.

  9. i believe that black magick is anything that is done in harm or malice and white magick is what is most commonly practiced in every day  life and done for healing and peaceful reasons.

  10. Black magick, white magic, spell it anyway you want. It's all nonsense.Silly supernatural mumbo jumbo for the easily fooled.

  11. It's all just magick. The white (good) and black (bad) is in the judgment and intent of the user.  A good source to understanding the structure of magick in some detail is the book "Real Magic" by Isaac Bonewitts (link below).

For an example take nuclear power. This can be used to provide electricity and reduce our use of fossil fuels that are a more limited resource and harm the environment.

However, nuclear power plants produce toxic waste that is harmful to both people and the environment (if not properly stored). So, is nuclear power good or bad? It is not an either or question but instead a and also question. Nuclear power is good and it is also bad (just like magick).

Nuclear weapons are considered bad (evil) by many and certainly kill people and are destructive for the earth. However, did this evil keep us from being under communist (Soviet) rule? Did the devastation and horror of the Atomic bomb(s) actually cost less lives than if the war was allowed to continue? Even the most evil things (weapons designed to kill) can be put to good use (saving lives and preventing attacks).

Also there are prayer studies that show the effectiveness of prayer on healing (even when people are unaware they are being prayed for). This work is most pursued by Larry Dossey, M.D. (link below). I am unaware of (but would like to see) similar studies using prayer in non christian (Wiccan, etc.) healing studies.

Due to ethical considerations studies on Black Magick will never be done by scientist.

  12. to me that which is used for devious things are black magic. I have once saw a guy read something in Latin while making coffee for his boss and the boss got sick after drinking the coffee.

white is no evil or malice though i haven't seen one.

  13. I think it depends on who is performing the magic, and why s/he it performing it.  If it's to help others and for good, and it's white magic, and if it's for the opposite, then it's black magic.  I don't think it can get any simpler than that.

  14. Magick is magick, It just depends on what your intentions are & where your heart is at the time .

  15. It's neither. Magic(k), no matter how you spell or label it, doesn't actually work.

Look at the lives of these famous occultists, and then decide if it's worth persuing:

Henry Cornielius Agrippa von Nettesheim: One of the most famous occultists of the middle ages. His work has gone on to inspire hundreds of "magical" books and writings. Despite all his occult knowledge, he died in poverty at age 41 in 1532.

Cagliostro, a famous French-Egyptian "magician", did the most embarrassing things, like putting a teacup on his erect p***s and telling women "This is the only Bishop you will bow to!" He died in the Bastille in 1795.

John Dee discovered Enochian Magick and tried unsuccessfully to get the spirits to bring him money. He spent the final years of his life stripped of his honors and income and was forced to live incommunicado. He died in extreme poverty at 81.

Paracelsus: Thought himself a great physician, but he was really just an alchemist who had bizarre theories about human anatomy and prescribed dangerous remedies for his patients. This man was said to be arrogant and conceited, and was shunned by the other medical experts of his day.

He died broke at the age of 48.

Edward Kelly: An assistant of Dee, after failing to strike it rich with Enochian Magick, he was killed trying to escape prison. He had been imprisoned for his old hobby, counterfeiting.

Aleister Crowley had a nervous breakdown in spent 4 months in an insane asylum after trying to conjure a demon in a Paris hotel. In 1947 he died impoverished in a flophouse, forgotten by his family, a drug addict and alcoholic, despite starting out in life as a rich heir to Crowley Ale. He squandered it all on drugs and whores. "Success is your proof " - -Liber Al Vel Legis 3:46, Aleister Crowley

Gurdijef was a Russian con man who got involved in many money making scams. Once he dyed sparrows in peroxide and sold them as canaries! Even his biographers admit he had a "streak of charaltainism" about him. He created a system of bunk psychotherapy which is convoluted and even people who practice it can't clearly explain what is. In other words, it was the forerunner of Scientology.

Christian Rosenkrutz never actually existed. The whole Rosicrucian thing was started as a joke to make fun of occultists by a Lutheran minister named Valentin Andrea.

The Fox Sisters started the whole spiritist/seance’ movement in 1840. Years later they confessed the whole thing had been a hoax, but no one wanted to listen.

Samuel "Macgregor" Mathers: Eventually all the members of the Golden Dawn figured out Mathers lied about the secret chiefs, which led to him being kicked out, & the Golden Dawn being disbanded. He died in poverty from Pnumonia in 1918.

Jack Parsons blew himself up in his basement, making nitroglycerin, which he sold on the black market to supplement his income (apparently his money spells didn't work, either.)

Pamela Coleman Smith painted the illustrations for Arthur Edward Waite's tarot deck, one of the most popular decks being used today. She died penniless and alone in a London flat.

Paschal Beverly Randolph inspired people like Aleister Crowley, the members of the O.:T.:O.:., and Henri Gamache. His books are still in print. He committed suicide at age 44, leaving his wife and son to live in poverty.

They couldn't make the occult work, neither can anyone else.

Here's a quote from Wiccan Tradition Head Silver Ravenwolf:

"For years I couldn't afford to go to a hair stylist (still can't, it's shop and chop for me). I got pretty good at stying my own hair from looking at magazine pictures" [SOURCE: Teen Witch, Llewellyn Publications, 2003 edition, page 145]

She also wrote a book about Prosperity spells. Does she sound like she can make it work? She can't even afford a hairdresser! My wife just spent $100 at the beauty parlor and we're far from rich.

Here's another quote from that same book:

"A lot of people tell me how bad their lives have gotten after casting a spell and tell me they won't do Witchcraft anymore. I tell them their lives would have been much worse for not having cast the spell."

If you want to really have a good life, ditch the occult.

  16. to me, black magic is a sort of sorcery used for doing bad things. white, is what you naturally gain while on the path of enlightenment. magic.. is when you stumlbe upon something, like sorcery.. but you dont use it for bad...instead.. just for entertaintment.

  17. I agree that magic is about as real as prayer.  I believe the power of both are limited exactly to the degree their subconscious can influence how they perceive these things to be effective.  In other words, it's all in the head.
