Question:

So is it hopeless!??

I have the worst singing voice ever.

I sound like a four year old on helium.

I sound alright in my head, but when I record myself I sound terrible!

Since I play like 3 instruments, and Im soon going to learn guitar, I really want to be able to sing well.

Is there any way (without voice lessons) that I can become a better singer?

Thanks!:)

  1. I'd say take lessons if you have the means. You may never be good enough to sing lead, but if you are playing an instrument, being able to sing back ups is a HUGE benefit. When we are auditioning for musicians in my band, everything being equal, we'll always take the musician who can sing back up well.

    Good luck!

  2. I think any voice can be improved. I don't know a lot on the subject but there are definately things you can do without a teacher. But a good teacher can work wonders with your voice. You could also do a search right here on yahoo answers many people have asked advice on vocal training before.

  3. So my voice isnt horrible but its not WOW.

I practice singing different octaves daily. [octaves are how high or low you sing] and just singing different notes. But I really dont think you can see great improvement without a coach. But my voice is getting stronger and what i do really seems to help. Everyone can tell a difference
