Gibbs cars had a six race winning streak, but Rowdy won in a non-Gibbs car. Clearly the Gibbs cars are dominant, but Rowdy beat them. So is he a better driver than all the others, or what?

  1. drivers hes got something to prove since being dropped by hms

  2. No he just got lucky. If they would have finished the race Denny would have so passed him. Or it was fixed for him but this is just my opinion! Besides it was not like he was the only one who got those 6 wins. Tony had a few and I think Denny had one! I it the team- THEY STILL FINISHED SECOND!

  3. first of all, for those who think that toyota or gibbs are the only reason kyle is winning, think again...

although i generally try my d@mnedest to find some middle ground to say "it's a combination of both," here it is obvious - it's the driver. i had written pages on this, but will distill it into this:  he has won in each of the major series four years in a row, and multiple times in each this year.  he has won in chevy and toyota trucks, chevy and toyota nationwide cars (this year's "tapered-spacer" toyota, and last years chevys), chevy cup series "cars of yesterday," and chevy and toyota "cars of tomorrow."

he has won with powerhouse teams (HMS and JGR), with "fair-to-middlin' teams" (Braun), and with small-budget teams (billy balew motorsports). he has even won with his own late model team (kyle busch motorsports) as well as those of other owners.  and he has done so with different crew chiefs, different pit crews (good and bad), and on every type of racetrack nascar has to offer (superspeedway, intermediate, short track, road course, high bank, flat track, etc.).   add to that the fact that he's won in restrictor plate, tapered-spacer, and unrestricted nationwide and cup series cars, and you've got the real deal on your hands.

to say that he's won only in toyotas and only with gibbs and that he couldn't hack it in chevys or with hms is just a way to show your ignorance. thinking so completely overlooks his four cup and eleven nationwide series while in HMS chevys, not to mention his eight wins with billy balew in both chevy and toyota trucks.  his range is amazing...

    'nuff said.

  4. Had Tony been in the 20 car I think Kyle would have had to work a lot harder for that win

  5. well lets see...kyle busch really couldnt get it done in a chevy when he was riding for hendrick...gotta be the toyota power

  6. It's the driver in this situation.

He's won in the trucks, Nationwide, and Sprint Cup. They aren't flukes because he has more than 1 in each.

You can't say it's the car he's driving or the COT, because he's won in the other series as well. Not to mention he sprinkles in some Dirt Late Model wins to pad his resume.

  7. A whole lotta horsepower

    +

    A tremendous amount of talent

    +

A team & team mates that believe in him

    +

An "I'll show you what you got rid of" attitude

  8. Kyle's good and Gibb's is a great team, but the Toyota's are making a lot of power as well.

  9. you mean the car, or the driver. I've been trying to tell everybody it's the driver, but they wanna listen to the wrong "experts" who say it's the car. Maybe Kyle can prove to them what I already know. The reason how I know is because i've built racing machines and i've also raced them. I've seen guys with so much guts, that they can make a crippled machine beat the competition. It's the driver baby!
