  1. i cant imagine that they would ever race him again.  the thing is there is about a thousand reasons that people can blame the belmont loss on. ie. quarter crack, 3 races in 5 weeks, the heat so on and so on.  with all these excuses big brown can retire and still be considered a really good horse.  if he raced in the travers and lost it would destroy his reputation.  people would not nearly be as eager to breed their mares with him. on the other hand if he won the travers it would really do nothing to add to his repuatation.  he would still be considered a really good horse. not great.  beating curlin in the breeders cup would make him considered great. and win him HOY. BUT after watching yesterdays race the chances of that happening seem slim at best.  i saw the way Iavorone was hugging Big Brown yesterday, looked like a good bye.  hope im wrong.  that move that he made in the preakness was amazing.  im a big fan regardless of yesterdays flop.

  2. supposedly they're still planning on racing him in the Travers

  3. Definately not.  Now, more than ever, the horse needs another race.  Do you really think those loudmouths who handle him would let him go out on that dismal note?  I think Dutrow and Ivarone will be wanting to redeem themselves and the horse before retiring him.  They really wanted to race Curlin and they were saying that "If Curlin shows up"... as if Curlin would be afraid of Big Brown.  That's laughable.  Curlin's a beast.  He destroyed the Dubai World Cup field and that's the biggest international race of the year... with a $6,000,000 purse, it draws the best horses from around the world... Curlin walked over them and won by a big margin and the jockey didn't even go to the whip.  Dutrow's gonna feel pretty bad when it comes Breeders Cup Classic time and his horse is once again romped over by a better horse.

  4. It's hard to say. The slippery owners of Big Brown will do whatever is the most profitable at this point.

  5. Dont think so. he lost so i dont think that they will go right into making Big Brown a stud. Most likley he will be entered in the Breeders Cup. But he will retire soon sadly, Too much of an amazing horse to retire so quickly, but its for the mulah of being a stud

  6. LOL kmnmiamisax good answer!

Dutrow said he was going to win the Triple Crown and then kick Curlins butt.  Part 1 of his plan failed so we'll see if he has the nerve to try Part 2.  If they chicken out then the next time we hear about Brown will probly be when his first offspring hits the track.
