Ive heard of other people getting two different feeds and mixing them together, saying that it is better for my lovebird. I already bought the Kaytee lovebird food and my bird eats most of the stuff in it. Also is feeding my bird dried fruit like dried blueberries or cherries okay? Its the Archer Farms brand and has a small amount of sugar and sunflower oil in it and im not sure its good for her

  1. I recommend the Kaytee brand anyway. I use Kaytee for my cockatiel, and I hear that it is very good for them. It has alot of nutrition, proteins they need. By the way, I don't think you're suppose to mix different types of brand food together.

  2. A mixture of extruded pellets and fruit/seeds is best. You're doing a great job! They love banana and apples, too! Good luck! kjl

  3. it should be fine. but i guive my tiel a mix of kaytee seed annd zupreem pellets. pellets have more healthy stuff in them and less fat. its a good idea.

  4. Well, i know nothing about Lovebirds, but my grandma has parakeets, and she's been using Kaytee brand for YEARS. She also puts frozen peas, corn, and i think rice? on a paper plate, and microwaves it, then puts it at the bottom of the cage to make sure it stays healthy. So far, i think that bird is about, 6, 7 years old.
