So is the steer meat is the best meat then over the cow meat? thanks.?

steers are generally used for meat purposes since castrating them puts all thier growing efforts toward meat production instead of chasing cows in heat.  Cows are used for breeding and/or milk production but when they are too old for this, they become what is called canner and cutter cows.  the meat is tough but flavorful and is used for ground beef, canned meat products(think ravioli's out of a can) what ever, stew meat.  All is beef.

Uummm....steer IS cow.  The male cow is called a steer (after being castrated, of course), and the female cow is called a heifer.
