  1. Hey there Door! depression and anxiety go together hand in hand but not all the time but the percentage is very high!!! most likely if u meet some one with depression they will also tell u they suffer from some type of anxiety to. as far as faking your well when your around people I did that same thing and so do lots of other people and it got to the point that people had no idea I had depression because I always hid and played at being happy and joyful( when inside I was crying and numb per say and hurting so much ) and when they learned of my depression they would make comment's like omg i had no idea or omg u can't tell are u sure she isn't faking it etc. now to your question about u having anxiety yes that is a type of anxiety but as far as having a full blown anxiety disorder u mite think u have nah I would have to say no if that is the only anxiety you said u had hun. good luck and as they say keep faking it till u make it I did!!!!!

  2. When a person laughs due to nervousness that's called "anxious laughter" but that's not really what they mean when they refer to anxiety in a mental health connotation. What it sounds like you are describing is "self consciousness" which is a very common reaction to a different awareness that occurs in adolescence/early adulthood because you are relating to people in a different way (that includes sexual overtones).  Just like any skill (musical instrument, sport, etc) the more you do something the better and more comfortable you will feel.  So even if you feel uncomfortable, get involved in many groups and situations that force interpersonal interaction - and you will get more comfortable and confident.

  3. Hi,I understand.You sound confused and upset.Don't worry there

is a way out. There are a number of ways to find a Psychiatrist but

i think the best way is to go to a place that has a Psychiatrist and

Psychologist on staff.Try the yellow pages or Google. They have

what is called a sliding scale payment.Based on your income

I'am from New York we have many here.I don't know where your

living but you could always ask your family Dr. Do this soon, good luck.

  4. Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.

But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced... you have that "learned behavior" in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction... There are several other techniques to help cope them!

Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to....
