  1. The 2007-08 application (for last school year) was due on June 30th 2009.  You can still file a 08-09 app which processes online in 3-5 depending if you have everything correct on there.

Schools do have their own deadlines though which is WAY before the June 30th 2009 deadline for the 08-09 app.  If you want to get state aid you SHOULD apply as early as January but its never to late to file one, but it could be late to get aid from your school.

  2. You can apply for fafsa now... and all the way up until June 30th, 2009 (yes, 2009, not 2008)  for school for the fall, spring and next summer but here is the deal.

If your school starts in a few weeks it won't likely be processed (by the school) in time so if you don't have the cash to pay and the school demands payment before school starts you may have to wait until spring.

Applying for fin aid is a PROCESS that can take up to 8 weeks or more.  Most who are starting college this fall did their fafsa back in Feb/March.  Its not IMPOSSIBLE to have your money ready in a few weeks, but very unlikely.  Small schools may be much quicker at processing, but very large schools may take some time.

Some schools are patient and will let you attend with an outstanding tuition bill, pray yours is one of them.
