  1. The Earth has survived for millions of years, i`m sure humans polluting it for a couple of hundred won`t make a lot of difference. When the oil does run out in about 60yrs it will soon get back to stability.

  2. Would like to see more people get on there bike. Most people that i see travel less than 2miles or 5miles at the most just to get to work. There is people that need a car for example staying in the country. I think changes are on the way as oil starts to become expensive.

  3. Yes, it’s better if you share your car with others,

There are many website for car pooling…

    Or just use your bicycle?

  4. did u goto work today??? how did you get there????

If you live in a major town u possibly will have a public transport system, try that out in the sticks..... 2 busses a day... so yes i drive, most of the time i ride my motorbike.

So should you not be spending your time pertitioning to get an appropriate alternative to driving??? untill there are alternatives people will drive their cars.

  5. I love this Planet, I realy do, and Ive been recycling long before it became fasionable, I kept a compost bin even though I have no garden, again before it became fasionable. I bought Organic food, back before we were made to feel guilty for not doing so, I use rechargeable batteries, keep old bath water to wash the car, I have had over expensive solar pannels fitted,  Ive been taking old bags back to  Sainsburys for so long that I used to get strange looks as I was the only one doing so, I always buy British and always Fair Trade, I cycle, not because I love it but because my concionce tells me I should. So please, when I decide to take my big petrol guzzling V8 out by myself for a pointless drive, DONT come over all high and mighty. I think I made my point

  6. THIS IS CALLED INDEPENDENCE

  7. I am thankful that I am able to walk, I prefer not to cycle because I feel my safety is not in my control(trafic is too dense).

  8. I car pool with two others the 45 miles to work.

How can you believe what you are typing ?

Life will go on, the GW hoax is only a money scam.

We can draw a strait bell curve line from our wallets to their bank acc.

  9. i live in the "country" about 35min. from work.  no one else i know works close by where i do, and there are no buses that come into my county into the next county for some reason.  i have no other choice.  i can't walk or cycle, or else it would take me a few hours to get to work and then another few hours to get back home.  some people don't have a choice.

we try to conserve energy and do our part in other ways, but as far as driving to work, i don't have any other options at this time.

  10. i am thinking it is time for us in the third world, especially Brazil and Africa to do something drastic to shake people up to their senses. what about threatening to cut down half the trees in the forests and if need be put it into action!

  11. a lot of people have no other way to travel, than by car. But as far as carpooling, a lot of people are just too lazy. They all think the same thing, to just let someone else do it, but when everyone is thinking this noone does anything. Our Earth is getting worn out, but I'm sure people will find a way to save it, the idea is still rather new. Well, at least I hope we can save it, because it'd be terrible if we couldn't.

  12. Climate change has been going on from the day this planet was created . The planet has changed over millions of years from a molten mass to the structure we now live upon. We have had Dinosaurs we have had an Ice Age we have had meteors crashing onto  our earth forming canyons and changing the shape of the face of our earth and more, all of which was done in the name of evolution and without our help. Man also has evolved and it has allowed us to crawl from the sea and allowed us to develop into humans with intelligence, to build and to create, cure the sick and to explore the universe. What you appear to be saying is that we give all this up and return to the past, if so why were we given the ability to evolve. This Government have jumped on to your  band waggon because they see your and others ignorance will support  their actions in placing high taxation upon us in the name of Global Warming but is it really to pay for their crazy polices for war in Iraq ? which in itself, if you are right must have produced a lot of so called carbon footprint. We are being conned into high taxation on your whim that we can alter the progress of Climate Change.

Look back over the last 100 years at all the volcanic eruptions that have taken place spewing out billions of tons of hot ash and lava and gases into the atmosphere, we as humans could do nothing to prevent this but the impact on the climate must have been tremendous.

Why not blame the Goverment who closed down the railways in favour of road transport which fuelled the road vehicle explosion, for the so called global warming. At one time every place in Britain had a connection to the railway system of this country, but due to the rail closures everybody was forced onto the roads and now congestion is rife. The goverment now uses global warming as a weapon to tax the vehicle user off the road but in truth it is the lack of alternatives which is the problem.

I am sorry but I cannot support you views.

  13. Many workplaces aren't easily accessible by public transport.  For my husband to go to work it would be 2 buses and 1 train: to get them all to link up would be a nightmare.  It's not even as if we live/work in extreme rural areas.  Public transport needs to improve, and even be a financial incentive for people to consider it as a realistic alternative.  Another option is for companies to realise that in this age of technology it would be completely workable for the majority of their employees to work from home most of the time.  I know this depends on the job, but certainly a lot of office jobs could work like that.  My husband could certainly work at least 3 days a week from home, if the company would allow it.

  14. Dont believe the propaganda. Did you know that in the height of the industrial revolution when the UK alone was churning out more carbons then china and india are now, the core temperature of the earth actually dropped by 2 degrees. Centuries ago Britains used to grow grapes and had its own vineyards. Look! The climate is changing and it is a natural occurrence. NASA satellites ACTUALLY show that the ice caps are starting to freeze over again. There is recorded proof of the sun having solar bursts. These are natural and dont have anything to do with global warming. The ozone is repairing itself after the damage caused by the use of CFC's in the 70's and 80's. This alone should prove that the planet can repair itself. The peat bogs on bodmin moor make up around 3% of the worlds carbon emissions and the population of England only make up around 2% of the worlds emissions, so the peat bogs alone make up for more emissions than England. If the government is so concerned about climate change then they would invest in more sustainable fuels and promote veganism as the biggest producer of carbons is cattle farming. Did you also know that energy saving bulbs contain mercury, which can be poisonous if it gets in the blood stream.

I am not saying that we should leave the lights on or use the car unnecesserally, nothing annoys me more than a child being dropped off at school when they live no more than a 20 minute walk away. I just believe that if we are going to be told of global warming  and have to pay more tax because of it then please let us have a proper adult debate about it.

  15. we are all screwed - unless nature wipes out 99.9% of all humans in a freak plague
