  1. "Bloody" is just a way of emphasing your displeasure with something...as in "Turn that bloody noise down!" . Its not  polite, but its not really regarded as swearing either. Its also becoming increasingly old-fashioned, as you dont  hear anyone under 25 use it much.

    "Rubbish" is exactly the same as "garbage" or "trash"..we dont often use the words garbage or trash here.

    So...why do Americans say "like" all the time, and what the h**l is that about ? You either have a question or you don't, putting "like" in front of everything is meaningless and just  like writing "errrrrr..."

  2. "bloody" is a mild curse word - I think nowadays it would generally be considered not as swearing, but still offensive. It's quite an old curse - you can find quite a few instances of it in Shakespeare - it's believed that it's origin is (Catholic) Christian, an abbreviated form of "By Our Lady"

    And rubbish (English English) = trash (US English)

  3. It means it's unfavourable... i.e. it was rubbish is a nice way of saying they didn't find something very good (i.e. Manchester United played like rubbish yesterday)

  4. rubbish is garbage... americans would say you talking garbage or go take out the garbage and british people would say you talking rubbish... and bloody is not really a curse word its like h**l.. you would say what the h**l is your problem the would say whats your bloody problem

  5. bloody is a swear word, it is a fairly mild one

    rubbish = garbage or trash

  6. I'm not sure. I think bloody is almost a swearing word. I think rubbish just means thats trash. Very interesting
